Detox or detoxification is the process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins from the body. Plans detoxification can take several forms and ways - from regular exercise to body scrubs and spa massages, yoga and meditation. But perhaps the simplest and most common is to go on a detox diet.

A detox diet is a program that minimizes the intake of chemicals in the body to go for organic foods. It highlights food like vitamins and antioxidants that the body needs for detoxification. It also involves taking in food that aid in removing toxins, as foods high in fiber and water. In general, suggests a high intake of fresh vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts and plenty of fluids, while reducing caffeine, alcohol, yeast and sugars.

Note that these programs detox diet should not be for long. It is normally recommended at least once or twice a year, and should be done during the warmer months.
